Why i love my Maclaren XT, review

I bought a Techno XT when i was pregnant and can’t wait to use it. When i was in Europe i saw everyone using a Maclaren. Other than their stylish design it made me curious what’s so great about this stroller. I did some research and found out that it’s one of the most popular stroller in the world. It is a little costly but if you want a quality stroller this is the brand.

What was i looking for in a stroller?

What caught my attention is their 5 second 1 hand umbrella compact fold. You can hold your baby in one hand and the other one to close the stroller, easy to use. Then there is the aeronautical-quality aluminum frame. It’s light and will last you a long time, provided by Maclaren’s Sovereign Lifetime Warranty™. It’s a must for me when it comes to the weight of the stroller. I don’t want to use a stroller that’s heavy even before i put the baby in it. When it’s folded down it has a auto lock and you can just pick up the stroller. That feature is very handy. You won’t know the features are important until you use it.

Last weekend i took my baby out on a road trip. My hubby was at a business meeting all day and all i had was my Maclaren. It was my first time taking my baby girl out and out of town and with no help. We went shopping to kill time waiting for my hubby to finish his meeting. That was the time i felt all the features, lol. I thought to myself, good $ invested in a quality stroller. It was light, easy to fold down, very sturdy and nice to push.

This can be use for newborn up till 55lbs (most umbrella strollers can’t last that weight) I wanted to buy a stroller that can stroll my baby until she’s 4-5 yrs old. For those who always travel or like to go out, you need to know this is one piece of baby accessory that is the most important. Don’t think that only a baby need a stroller and not a toddler. Even toddlers are tired when they are out. They still need their naps and a stroller will provide that space for them to sleep without you having to rush home. No worries about getting the stroller dirty cause it’s washable. There’s a rain cover, water resistant hood plus a UV protective viewing window.

Well like i say it is a little pricey for a stroller but once again it all depends on why you need it.Things to think about before buying a stroller. Here are some reasons why:

• I always travel, need a durable stroller. Especially if you are always flying.
• I don’t want to use the kangaroo pouch to carry the baby all the time. I want the baby to be more independent.
  
• It’s comfortable for both mommy and baby. Both get their own space when they are out together.
  

There are so many brands out there, ranging from Rm 350 and above do your research and see what you need. I’ve tested other designs and i feel it’s not for me.

So now when i bring my baby girl out, she just loves her Maclaren. It comes in 4 seating position. Most Maclaren has 3 sitting position. I bought the XT cause it has the newborn feature which can be pull down all the way for the baby to sleep. The other ones are about Rm650 and above starting from 3 months onwards. And the width is wider too so that it can accomodate when the baby grows bigger. More room and space along the way. I personally like the material, not too hot. Most stroller has the cushion type which i feel it’s very hot and hard to wash.

 Baby Berry @ 5 months (UPDATED 29,10,2010) This picture was taken awhile back ago. I went through snow, sleet, rain, and hard terrain with this stroller without any problems. The only down side is that the storage basket is small (very limited space) I’m at my 2nd pregnancy now and wanted to buy Baby Jogger city select double stroller but was sad that i had to give up my Maclaren. At the end decided not to. It was too heavy and not umbrella fold. After 17 months of using this, i still love it!
